Comfort in Scripture

The following is just from a little 2" x 3" card I carry. It Says, "God Cares For You." Do you agree? I tend to struggle with anxiety. So, when I am having a bad day, or am feeling just a bit off, I have been learning to seek God's comfort through scripture.

Here are some scripture verses you can read  that will provide you comfort when you read them-

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7

Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.- Matthew 11:28

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.- John 14:27

For the Lord comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.- Isaiah 49:13

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.- Psalm 23: 1
 Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

When I pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.- Isaiah 43:2

The Lord will keep you from all harm-- He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.- Psalm 121:7-8

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. - Numbers 6:24-26

As you read some of these verses, think on how God might bring comfort to you today, and how you might pray for someone else who needs comfort, too.

Jesus, help us to seek you each day through the Bible. Help us to take our burdens to You. You have a plan and a way that is right for our lives. Thank you Jesus,  for being our shield and our safety. Thank you for the knowledge of grace You have provided today. Help us to commit Your Word to heart and live in Your will. In Your name, Amen.
