There is no blog entry for June 8th. One of the reasons I am writing this blog is to just ask for prayer. Right now, I have been out of work since August 2007. I keep watching the news, and all it does is provoke fear in my mind, and angst.
I read an article in the June 2011 edition of AARP Bulletin regarding employment, titled "When Any Job Must Do," by Carole Fleck. Visit here to read: http://www.aarp.org/work/job-hunting/info-06-2011/underemployed-workers.html
In her article it speculates as to why so many people are out of work and having a tough time getting hired. Additionally, the persons mentioned in the article are working more than one job just to make ends meet. The author mentions that it is easier to find a job when people are working. That might explain one of the reasons I never hear from employers, because I have been out of work too long. They think that I have no skills or am inept or don't have anything to offer. Companies do discriminate on this basis and there is no law against it at this time, which is unfortunate and sad. But, with an economy that has an estimated 9.1 % of people unemployed and more falling into this everyday, finding any job right now would be like winning the lottery. It is my hope that those of us not working now will remain steadfast and continue to seek God's provision during these troubling times. Remember to thank Him today for the good things in your life and for the struggles, too. Ask Him to show you what He would have you do, and join Him. God loves you and He is with you through this all of the way. Jesus be our peace. In your name, Amen.
